Dear members,

Has everyone had a good start to their summer or vacation? Are your exams finished and have you have the chance to enjoy the sun? The board has also needed a couple of weeks to rest, but is currently working hard to prepare for the coming introduction week, the upcoming GMM and finding new board members! Concerning these last two points you will receive extra e-mails with more information!

Furthermore we want to thank everyone for their presence and excellent mood during the BBQ! For us it was and enjoyable and successful evening, and we hope that everyone who was there experienced it in a similar manner.

Activities organised by the association

During the entire summer the trainings proceed as usual, albeit at different hours. During the summer there will be no official activities, because we expect most of you are celebrating your holidays. After the summer, however, the first activities are planned. First of all on Saturday the 14th of September there will be a special aikido training, open for all, by Murat and Elif Sorkun. Partially to celebrate the fact that they opened their own school and recently gotten a new dan degree in Aikido. We would like to congratulate them with these two memorable events.

Additionally we are in contact with someone who could give a hapkido lesson in October. More information will follow.

Intro

This year the introduction week will be from the 19th until the 23rd of August. The Samourais will participate in this activity again and we will need your assistance in this! For now the schedule is as follows:

• Monday 08:30 - 10:30, we will distributing leaflets and show our faces
• Tuesday 12:00 - 18:00, will be demonstrations of all kinds
• Wednesday 08:30 - 18:00, intro groups will stop by and have to be entertained
• Thursday 12:30 - 17:00, introduction lessons will be given in the dojo

To let these activities progress smoothly we need the support of the members. Should someone be available for several hours or longer on 1 or more days, please let us know!

The most help will be needed on Tuesday and Wednesday, so if you can join for a couple of hours, it will be greatly appreciated. For Thursday not much help is needed, since these will be lessons given by the teacher. It would be nice if there was some support from members, to encourage people to continue coming in September.

General updates

Aside from Murat and Elif, there is another member who passed his exam and received a higher degree dan. Alessandro! Congratulations on passing!
